Here’s what MPHS runners did at the Drake Relays Saturday:  Maggie Cristoforo a junior on the MPHS girls team finished 8th in the 400 meter hurdles at Drake, she ran a time of 1:06.28. The winning time was 1:03.21 by a senior runner from Glenwood

MPHS BOYS’ 4X100 TEAM RAN IN THE 6TH HEAT OF THE PRELIMS….RAN 44.00 WITH KHANG TRUONG, CHASE LAMM, RYLAN SEBERG AND ZACH BEASON…FINISHED 1ST IN THEIR HEAT FINISHED 12TH OVER ALL AND HAD THE FASTEST 3A SCHOOL TIME

The MPHS girls’ 4×100 team ran in heat 11 they ran a time of 53.20 finishing 5th in the heat with Maddie Williamson, Karsyn Lamm, Lyndi VanTiger and Avery Sutter, Panthers finished 83rd overall in the 96 team field.

MPHS BOYS SHUTTLE HURDLE TEAM RAN 3RD IN THEIR HEAT AT 1:01.91,  Zach Beason, Tate Shull, Konnor Peterson and Chase Lamm were the runners.  MPHS was 12th fastest of the 16 teams entered.

Morgan Christner fired a one-hitter and teammate Ashley Machholz went 3-for-4 to lead Iowa Wesleyan to an 8-1 victory over Spalding University in the first game of a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Mount Pleasant Saturday.  Spalding won the second game, 17-0, in six innings  It was Iowa Wesleyan’s first home loss after 11 victories. The Tigers (24-9, 11-5 SLIAC) end their regular season today, hosting Blackburn in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

The Golden Eagles swept Iowa Wesleyan in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Mount Pleasant 15-2 and 8-3.  Chazz Brown led IWU in the first game with two singles in two trips. Nick Salas was 1-for-2 and drove in both Tiger runs. Dominic Gerace and Minami Matsumoto each had a single for the Tigers. Brown homered in the second game and finished with two RBIs. Matsumoto, Gerace, Salas and Jacob Leonard each singled.  Iowa Wesleyan (8-28-1, 6-16) plays a 1 p.m. doubleheader today against Central College at Pella.
