The REC Center in Mt. Pleasant hosted their first indoor Youth Triathlon on Saturday, March 21. In the 11-14 year old age division the top three finishers were Ethan Collis, Abby Blint, and Mary West. In the 8-10 year old age division Camryn Lair, Ashlynn Riley, and Will Davidson were the top place winners. Other participants included: Elli Leichty, Emma Huckabone, Ryann Davidson, Grace Kelley, Ellie Manning, Abigail West, Emma Szewczuk, Nate Stroud, Aija Jenkins, and Hali Crane. Congratulations to all! We look forward to hosting this event again.


The Mt. Pleasant Panther girls track team is scheduled to run at Iowa City High , the Burlington girls team will also be there. Iowa Wesleyan is scheduled to play softball at Loras College today.

Today’s Iowa Wesleyan College baseball game has been rescheduled due to weather. Iowa Wesleyan was scheduled to play one nine inning game at Monmouth today at 3 p.m. The game will now be played tomorrow (Wednesday) at Iowa Wesleyan at 4 p.m.


Indian Hills Community College is searching for a new men’s basketball coach. John Wardenburg who just completed his 1st season as head coach after being an assistant for 3 years for the Warriors is stepping down. He led Indian Hills to a 29-5 won-loss record this year with a conference and regional championship and his team qualified for the national tournament losing in the 1st round. The search for a new head coach has begun, no timetable for naming a replacement has been announced.


The 3rd Annual Mt. Pleasant Easter Weekend 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday April 4th, 2015, at Cottrell Gym.  3rd-12th grade girls and boys, open men and women divisions, and 35 and older men and women divisions are available.  Cost is $60 per team, maximum of 4 players on each team, medals will be awarded for the 1st and 2nd places in each division.  To register and for more information contact Ronnie Ashton at 319-931-2896.


WACO Alumni we NEED YOU…The 3rd annual WACO vs. WMU alumni game is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 31st at 8p.m.  This 2015 game will be held at the Winfield complex during Crooked Creek Days.  Interested WACO Alumni should sign-up at  A minimum of 25 alumni athletes from each school are necessary for the game to be officially scheduled. Less than 25 signed up athletes will cause the game to be cancelled. Alumni Football USA and WACO Alumni athletes have raised more than $5,000 to benefit WACO Athletics . Warriors, let’s keep the tradition alive and have some fun playing football.
