Mt Pleasant boys golf competed up in Washington on Saturday. Pella won the team title with a score of 314, Mt Pleasant was 2nd at 332, Washington was 3rd at 351, Fort Madison shot 391, and Columbus was last at 431. Trace White led the Panthers shooting 81, Rhett Zeglen finished at 83, Bailey Shelledy and Jake Moffett both shot 84, Brevin Wilson had 86, and Reece Kempker shot 106.


The Mt. Pleasant Panther girls and boys track teams are sending a number of athletes to the 2019 Drake Relays in Des Moines Thursday thru Saturday.  The 1st Panther events happen Thursday with Sam Beatty in the high jump at 4:30 p.m.  Abby Ryon will run in the 3000 meter race at 5:40 p.m.

Friday will be a busy day, Chase Lamm will run the 110 high hurdles at 8:15, Lexie Magnani throws the shot at 8:30, Zach Beason throws the discus at 9 am.  Khang Truong long jumps at 9:30 Friday, Rylan Seberg will long jump in the 2nd flight at 9:45 am, the boy’s distance medley runs at 10:02 to wrap up the events involving Panthers.  Saturday at 8:15 the MPHS boys shuttle hurdle team runs, at 9:28 the Panther girls 4×100 relay hits the Blue Oval, the Panther boys 4×100 runs at 10:03.  Maggie Cristoforo is the final Panther to perform at 1:11 Saturday afternoon in the 400 hurdles.  KILJ-FM 105.5 will have updates on the action from Drake as well as posts on our website and facebook and twitter pages.



Iowa Wesleyan baseball played a conference double header with Fontbonne on Friday in the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex. In game one the Tigers jumped out to a three run lead. Chazz Brown got things started with a RBI single. Then with bases loaded Nick Salas scored on a wild pitch and Joseph Mitchell scored on an error. Griffins scored two runs in the 2nd inning to cut the Iowa Wesleyan lead down to 3-2. Tigers scored again in the 2nd inning when Jacob Leonard hit into a double play but a run scored. Fontbonne was able to tie it up 4-4 in the 5th inning. In the bottom of the 7th inning Jack de Burgh came to the plate with the bases loaded and he hit a RBI single for a walk off Tiger win. Charles Shockley pitched 5 and two third innings but Mitchell Wilcox picked up the win in his relief role.

Game two the Griffins scored a run in the 1st but Iowa Wesleyan would strike back with three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Michael Noonan scored on a wild pitch and then Joseph Mitchell hit a two RBI single. Fontbonne went on to score runs in the 3rd and 5th inning to lead 6-3. Tigers scored four runs in the 5th off Nick Salas and Chazz Browns who each drove in a run and then Jack de Burgh hit a two RBI double. Griffins scored five runs in the final two innings to win 11-7. Iowa Wesleyan baseball drops to 8-24-1 overall on the season and 6-14 in conference games, they will be back in action on Tuesday for a conference double header with Westminster College.

Girls soccer has a game at Washington 4:30pm, JV game will be at 6pm

Middle School girls track will compete in a meet at Fairfield at 4:30pm

Middle School boys track will compete in a meet at Fort Madison 4:30pm

Tuesday: Boys golf will play in an invitational at Edmundson Golf Course at 2pm

Girls and boys track will compete in relays at Keokuk at 4pm

Girls tennis will host Notre Dame at 4:30pm

Boys tennis will play at Notre Dame 4:30pm

Thursday: Boys golf will play in an invitational at the Preserve Golf Course

Iowa Wesleyan men’s golf will be competing in the St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament today in Peoria Illinois. Tigers will be teeing off at 8am at the Weaver Ridge Golf Course.
