(DES MOINES) – The Iowa Office of Drug Control Policy Assistant Director Dale Woolery and Partnership for a Drug Free Iowa President Peter Komendowski will join with the Henry County Substance Abuse Coalition, in a series of community stakeholder listening posts on April 21st and 22nd, culminating in a public presentation and listening post “Weeding Out the Facts” from 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesday April 22nd at Mt. Pleasant Community High School.

“We invite citizens in the Henry County area to participate in the listening posts because we want to hear directly what’s on the minds of citizens when it comes to drug activity impacting area youth,” said Lukan. “We want to hear about drug-related concerns in the community, and promote the sharing of important information with Iowans.”

Information gathered at the listening posts will assist in defining priorities for the next state Drug Control Strategy and refining drug control initiatives.

“Input from local citizens will help the Partnership for a Drug Free Iowa provide more targeted drug education programs and messages that better meet local needs,” said Komendowski. “It’s important for us to know about new or emerging challenges in this community, and to share information important to understanding the dangers and risks associated with the recent surge in marijuana advertising and marketing.”
