Mt. Pleasant Utilities Treasurer Randy Neff reported gross receipts for the month of March at one million one hundred eighty five thousand 545 dollars.

The Well #4 reservoir project continues but continues to run into delays.  The contractor asked the board for an extension allowing until June 21 to finish.  Crews are waiting on the dome material.  The foundation work continues and the tank is already on site waiting installation.

The Utilities work on the Jay Street sewer project should be finished at the end of the month.. Manager Jack Hedgecock said it was a great project as crews work to make sure that no concrete was poured over old water main.

Hedgecock also reported that work is going well on the main street city sewer and street replacement project.  The utilities are replacing four blocks of water main and services.

Next year the Utilities plan to build a new substation on Iris Street.  At Tuesday’s meeting the board went ahead and approved the preliminary engineering plans and specs.  The board also gave tentative approval to start the process to purchase materials for the project that include a switchgear building, power transformer and dead end structure.  These things need almost a 10 month lead time. The equipment is being by the utilities.  The installation work will be let out for bid separately.
