The Milton Fire Department Soup Supper begins at 5:30 pm at the Milton American Legion Building. Enjoy delicious homemade soups for a free will donation.
The public is invited to play walk-in BINGO at the Mt. Pleasant Veterans Hall every Monday at 6:30 pm. Each game sold separately. Play as much or as little as you want.
The Mount Pleasant Community High School Student Services office is hosting a career and college planning and financial aid night for students and their parents at 6:30 pm in the High School Media Center.
Danville FFA is holding a free will donation spaghetti supper at the Danville Community Building beginning at 5:30 pm with all proceeds going to Friends of Danville FFA and 4H. Following the supper, everyone is invited for a special community screening of SILO, the first-ever feature film about a grain entrapment.
Players Workshop is holding open auditions for their spring production "A Fox on the Fairway" today at 7 pm at the Workshop, located at 1431 Grove Street in Burlington. The play follows a golf tournament between two rival country clubs, who will try anything to win. Parts are available for three men and three women, ranging in age from mid-twenties to fiftyish. The Alzheimer's Association has a Volunteer Kickoff Party at Mi Pueblo Real in Burlington. Drop in from 11:30 to 12:15 with an optional meeting from 12:15 to 1. Lunch and drawing prizes will be available. Multiple opportunities to volunteer are available for the Walk, which will be held Saturday, October 10th.
The month's first Brown Bag Lecture, sponsored by Friends of the Harlan Lincoln House, will be held at noon in the International Room of the Chadwick Library on the Iowa Wesleyan University Campus. Bring your lunch and enjoy this free program with a historian from the Grout Museum District. Robert Neymeyer will talk about Rural Farm history in Iowa.
The Mt. Pleasant Moose serves tacos every Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 pm. Tacos, taco salad and walking tacos are $6 each. Dine in or to go available.
It's Taco Tuesday at the Mt. Pleasant Christian School serving from 5 to 7 pm. Dine in or carry out. You may also call in and order at 385-8613. The menu includes chicken or beef tacos, chips and homemade salsa, walking tacos, super nachos, dessert, soda and water.

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance presents Dueling Pianos at Airport Road Vineyard. It runs from 6 to 9:30 pm. Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $30. A VIP table of 10 is $400 and features early access, an appetizer platter and a bottle of wine or bucket of beer. For more information, contact the Chamber office at 385-3101.
The Mount Pleasant Christian School Auction kicks off at 9:02 am tomorrow but tonight features a preview night from 5 to 7 pm. You can view the items on the auction block and place absentee bids. Free Admission.Agriculture exhibition featuring machinery, seed technology, and grain handling from across Southeast Iowa. Once inside be sure to see all the exhibitors. Jefferson County Pork Producers serving lunch from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. There is popcorn, coloring pages, candy and much more in the atrium and expo hall. Local group 'The Boys' will take stage about 7:15 pm followed by Grammy Award winning Diamond Rio.

The 2nd Annual Bonaparte Music Bonanza will be held in the former Bonaparte School. There is a performance at 7 pm this evening and a matinee performance on Sunday at 1:30 pm. Tickets are $15 at the door. Tonight there is a soup supper for a free will donation at 5:30 pm.
The Cotillion Club announces the fourth dance of the 2019-2020 schedules. The band LMNOP will play your favorites at the Eagles Lodge in Burlington. Dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., open to the public, singles welcome and new members are encouraged. Cover charge is $12.50 per person for non-members.

St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Franklin will hold the annual soup and sandwich luncheon at the Pilot Grove Savings Bank Community Room in Donnellson from 11 am to 1 pm. The menu includes oyster, vegetable, chili and potato soups along with beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, pies, desserts and drinks for a free will donation.
