HyVee Chinese to offer variety of dinner options for wonderful preshow experience

Fairfield, Iowa – Your Fairfield Arts & Convention Center brings the biggest Holiday Carnival to Southeast Iowa on Saturday, December 19 from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, there will be various activities that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
There will be a special appearance from Santa Claus so be good and bring your Christmas list with you. Professional photos of Santa on-the-spot will be available.
The Holiday Carnival coincides with The National Acrobats & Circus of the People’s Republic of China performance Peking Dreams, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
The Holiday Carnival will include a variety of free activities all themed around the holiday season, including Christmas card decorating, Jesus Rios’ balloons and magic, popcorn and cotton candy, hot chocolate bar, cookie and cupcake walk, inflatable obstacle course and play area and fun holiday themed games – Pin the Tail on Rudolph, Santa Limbo, Whack-A-Grinch and more.
“Jefferson County Farm Bureau is excited to partner with the Convention Center in offering a fun, safe and memorable experience and, of course, Santa,” said John Sandbothe, Farm Bureau Federation regional manager. “We are committed to ‘giving back’ and ‘farming forward’ and we value the opportunity to contribute to the Christmas spirit.”
In addition to the Holiday Carnival, the Center is partnering with SIEDA and Community Childcare to fill their classrooms with toys. You are invited to bring art supplies, books, building blocks, large Legos, straws & connector, balls toy cars and trucks, puzzles and stuffed animals and dolls.
The Holiday Carnival, sponsored by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau is made possible by the generous support of Kempker’s True Value, Fairfield Art Association, Purple Star Entertainment, Iowa State Bank, HyVee and the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Board of Directors.
Get ready for the jaw-dropping athletic feats and acrobatics with a Chinese themed dinner from Fairfield HyVee’s chef Bryan. He will prepare three delicious entrees of Cashew Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Vegetable LoMein with white rice or noodles, egg roll and fortune cookie. The dinner will be available from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for $10. Tickets are available in advance at the Ticket Office or at the door on Saturday.

The night concludes with The National Acrobats & Circus of the People’s Republic of China at 7:30 p.m.
