William W. McIntosh, 68, of Keosauqua died Monday evening November 30, 2015 at his home. He was born June 21, 1947 in Fairfield to Wyatt W. and Lenora M. Huff McIntosh and married Joyce Lamm December 20, 1980 in the Keosauqua Congregational Church.
Bill spent most of his life in Keosauqua and graduated from Van Buren High School in 1965 and was employed at Hohl & Hohl Inc., Keosauqua, then attended Trade School in Omaha, Nebraska to be a mechanic. Following trade school he worked at International Harvester in Longmont, CO then Hendricks Equipment in Keosauqua until they closed and he started M&B Repair in 1988. Bill had attended the Congregational Church, had been a first responder and on the fire department all in Keosauqua. He was a member of Pheasants Forever, was one of the first Hunters Safety Instructors in Iowa and enjoyed, in his younger years, working on race cars and pulling tractors.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jarrod McIntosh of Keosauqua and Kenneth McIntosh (Tisha) of Gillette, Wyoming, five grandchildren, Britney Ryan (Nick), Jacob and Dylan McIntosh and Naven and Nalea Evans, a great-granddaughter, Sofia Wilson and a sister, Mary Ann Anderson (Steve) of Donnellson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Dale McIntosh.
Bill’s Body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday December 4, 2015 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Lee McIntosh officiating. Visitation will open at 3 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 P.M. Private family burial of cremains will be at a later date in Center Chapel Cemetery, rural Keosauqua. Memorials to Keosauqua Fire Department or the Cardiac Rehab Center at Van Buren County Hospital may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1309 Broad Street, Keosauqua, IA 52565
