Des Moines and Louisa Counties will be hosting a pollinator program featuring state Apiarist, Andrew Joseph, on Tuesday, July 28 at the Morning Sun Community Center starting at 6:00pm. Joseph will speak about how to get started with a bee hive and cover general bee health. Following Joseph, we will have a discussion regarding the programs available for you to plant your very own pollinator habitat! Don’t miss this opportunity to network with other bee enthusiasts and community members regarding the conservation of our pollinators! Pollinator seed from Aldo Leopold Pheasants Forever and a package of bees from Kalona Honey Co will be given away at this meeting! You won’t want to miss it! This program is sponsored by Louisa County Extension, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Pheasants Forever, Des Moines County Soil & Water Conservation District along with the Louisa County Soil and Water Conservation District. If accommodations are needed, please call 319.753.6221, ext 3, by July 24.
