Wayland, Iowa April 9, 2015: After weeks of designing, building, and testing catapults, WACO’s Mr. Ayrit’s junior high Physics Exploration class took two teams to the first Tater Toss competition at SCC on Wednesday April 8th.

WACO was represented by the Duwa’s (Braeden and Kinsey Duwa) and the Chunn’s (Bryce Chunn, Wyatt Harbison, and Colton Horak). Both teams showed Warrior spirit as they were the only junior high students out of the nine teams that attended the event. Points were awarded for three different events which tested the catapults for distance and accuracy. Despite being younger than their high school competitors, the WACO teams performed exceptionally with the Duwa’s taking first place overall and the Chunn’s coming in at a tie for second place overall.

WACO looks forward to defending their title in years to come.
