Meet The “Crayons.” Earlier this school year the Crayons competed in the Regional Qualifier competition for Lego League in Cedar Rapids. Pictured are: Back row, left to right: Will Edeker, Drew Kissell, Braden Hammond Front Row, left to right: Dalton Diers, Tanner Conwell and Elizabeth Birchfield. All 7th and 8th grade students. (Plus the MC of the Event) The “Crayons” qualified for the State Contest in Ames on January 17th and are lead by Mr. Paul Kissell and Mr. Frank Whitten.
This year’s theme was Trash Trek. Students designed a project on assisting in the solution of water pollution.
The Crayons had the third highest score on the Robotics challenge. The challenge was obstacle course of legos with trash as a theme. The students had to build and program a robot to complete tasks on the course.
Lego League is offered as a +1 class for 7th and 8th grade students as part of WACO’s +1 schedule. High School students are able to participate in a Robotics League, First Tech Challenge.

Wish our Crayons Good Luck as they prepare to compete at the State level! #WarriorProud
