DAVIS COUNTY, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has identified the victim of Sunday’s suspicious death investigation as Michael Thomas Goodwin, Sr., 39, of Bloomfield, Iowa.
An autopsy was performed today at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny, Iowa, by Dr. Jon Thompson, MD. The cause of death is not being released at this time and manner of death has been ruled as a homicide. Final autopsy results could take up to 6 to 8 weeks to be completed.
This is an ongoing investigation being worked jointly by the Davis County Sheriff’s office, the Ottumwa Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made in regards to this case.
