West Burlington, IA – The capital campaign to support SCC’s Building the Dream campus expansion and renovation project is in full swing. Now another company has stepped forward with a major gift. Two Rivers Financial Group, Inc., parent company of Two Rivers Bank and Two Rivers Insurance, recently pledged a gift of $100,000 to the campaign.
SCC President Dr. Michael Ash says, “Kent Gaudian, Matt Shinn, Frank Delaney, and many other Two Rivers executives have been on board with the campaign from the start. We’re grateful for their generous gift and ongoing support.”
SCC’s Building the Dream initiative includes construction of the Health Professions Center and the Hall of Sciences at the West Burlington campus, and the Industrial Technologies Training Center at the Keokuk campus. It is the largest, most comprehensive infrastructure investment undertaken by SCC since 1995.
Becky Rump, SCC Foundation Executive Director, explains that this gift is especially meaningful because of SCC’s long-time connections with Two Rivers leadership. Gaudian has helped with every levy campaign since the early 1990’s, Shinn is a graduate and strong supporter of SCC, and Delaney has served many years on SCC’s Foundation Board, currently as Vice President.
“Thanks in part to Kent, Matt and Frank, this gift is a strong endorsement of SCC’s mission. It shows that Two Rivers supports the direction we’ve chosen for not only the future of SCC but our students and the region.”
Building the Dream campaign chair Mike Shinn echoes Ash and Rump’s appreciation. “We have more than 50 volunteers helping raise funds for this campaign. It takes many smaller gifts to make up this single $100,000 gift, and while all gifts are important and appreciated, It’s great that Two Rivers has kept up the momentum of the campaign with such a major pledge.”
The campaign has surpassed $8,650,000 in contributions, bringing it to over 70% of the fundraising goal to date.
