Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

On January 6, 2022, at approximately 7:18 P.M., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 210th Street and Racine Avenue, near Mount Union, for multiple traffic violations.

Upon approaching the driver, later identified as Shawn Edward Stein, 39, of Winfield, deputies observed open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and asked Stein to step out of the vehicle to make sure he was not impaired.

After further investigation, Methamphetamine drug paraphernalia was located on Stein’s person.  Stein further stated he had consumed alcohol prior in the evening.

Resulting from the investigation Stein was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – (Serious Misdemeanor) and cited for Open Container – Driver 21 Years Old and Older (Non-Scheduled Violation)
