The Southeast Iowa Band to perform at the Sondheim Center Sunday, November 8

Fairfield (Iowa)— Fairfield residents will have a chance to hear the Southeast Iowa Band at the Sondheim Center on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 P.M. While the Southeast Iowa Band normally performs at Iowa Wesleyan University’s Chapel Auditorium in Mount Pleasant, the band is making a stop here in Fairfield to play a concert featuring a varied program that will appeal to all ages.
The Southeast Iowa Band is a college-community band of about 50 performers from Burlington, Ottumwa, Iowa City, Ft. Madison, Keokuk, Washington, Mt Pleasant and alumni, students and faculty from Iowa Wesleyan University.
Bobby Wilson, the late arts columnist for the Burlington Hawk Eye, once referred to the Southeast Iowa Band as “Southeast Iowa’s best kept secret.” A college/community ensemble, the band is made up of the area’s best wind and percussionists and rehearses on Sunday evenings at Iowa Wesleyan University under the baton of Robert McConnell – the same Robert McCon The Southeast Iowa Band Concert is a performance in the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s 2015-2016 Chamber Music Spotlight Series and is sponsored by Dr. Robert Tree, Robert Glocke and Dr. Gary Roth.
