Students in the Personal Finance and Introduction to Business classes at MPCHS recently completed their 4th quarter stock market investing project

Students in the Personal Finance and Introduction to Business classes at MPCHS recently completed their 4th quarter stock market investing project. Each student is given a virtual portfolio with $20,000 to start the project. Participants buy and sell stocks using an interface provided by the Wall Street Journal. If students keep a detailed record of their transactions, they can earn up to 10% extra credit based on the percentage of profit they earn. The top performer was Jack Pieper, who earned $4,199 in profit. Dante Vandenberg finished 2nd with a profit of $2,864. The 3rd place finisher was Heidi Patterson with $2,448 in gains. Kaley White finished in 4th place with $2,080 in profit. 5th place went to Shawna Sammons with $1,034 in gains. Ariana Wilson finished 6th with $956 in profit. Samantha Doak was the 7th place finisher with $899 in profit. 8th place went to Kirstin Fry who earned $880 in profit. A gain of $874 moved Ronnie Anderson into 9th place. Zac Ebeling was the last to earn a spot in the top ten with a profit of $873.
