The Mt. Pleasant Panther volleyball team went to Fairfield for Southeast Conference action last night, the Trojans swept the Panthers,
Fairfield 25-25-25, Mount Pleasant 15-9-13
MPHS JV volleyball lost to Fairfield on the Trojans home court in 3 sets, The Freshman also lost in 3 sets.
OTHER AREA VOLLEYBALL SCORES:
Bettendorf swept Burlington, Van Buren won 3-1 over West Burlington, New London won 3-1 over Central Lee and Washhington swept Keokuk.
The MPHS girls and boys cross country teams ran in the Muscatine Invitational yesterday. In the team scores:

The MPHS boys’ cross country team ran 4th at the Muscatine Invitational scoring 114 points, the event was won by Pleasant Valley won the team title with 66 points. Logan Murray the top ranked individual and defending class 3A champion finished 2nd behind a runner from Marion High School in a time of 16:12, Cody Mertens was 15th in 17:04, Adam Bodenham 22nd, Kyle Vanderham 36th and Ryan Hutchison 39th.
The latest cross country rankings for teams and individuals. MPHS boys team is #6 in Class 3A, Logan Murray #1 individually and Cody Mertens 24th. Gavin Bencze of Winfield Mt. Union is 11th in class 1A.
Abby Ryon freshman for Mt. Pleasant High School is 29th in Class 3A.
The Mt. Pleasant Middle School 7th grade football team played Fairfield yesterday. The 7th graders tied with Fairfield 12-12.
Josh Mueller and Dylon Hagans led the team on offense. Mueller caught a touchdown pass.
Dewon Trent led the team on defense with 10 tackles. Jacob Bailey was 2nd on the team in tackles.
Sam Jerrel had an interception and returned it for a touchdown

The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team hosted Eureka College last night the Tigers looked to bounce back from a loss to the Red Devils over the weekend. Unfortunately, after winning the first set, the Tigers were unable to win another set the rest of the night. Eureka handed the Tigers a 3-1 defeat to drop IW to 4-9 on the season.
The main offensive weapon was Cassandra Schwamborn with ten kills. Schwamborn also had twelve digs for the Tigers. Ariel Smale had a team high 30 assists on the night, and Cierra Howard finished with 22 digs.
Iowa Wesleyan will be back in action tomorrow they will host Blackburn College at 7 pm in Ruble Arena. IW is now 4-9 on the season and 3-5 in conference play.
The Iowa Wesleyan men’s soccer team hosted Waldorf College in a non-conference matchup yesterday. Waldorf handed the Tigers a 5-0 loss to bring IW to 1-8-1 on the year.
