Mikaela Foecke former Holy Trinity Catholic High School volleyball standout and now freshman standout at Nebraska in the Big Ten Conference helped the Corn Huskers defeat the University of Iowa in volleyball last night in Iowa City. The Huskers swept Iowa 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23. Mikaela leads her team in kills, she also leads the team in fan support. Their last two matches have been played in the state of Iowa, Saturday in Ames at Iowa State and last night in Iowa City. There were many former classmates, teammates, friends and relatives in the stands both matches to show their support for one of the best volleyball players to ever play in Iowa.

MPHS football team will be celebrating Senior Night tomorrow night when they host Davenport Assumption. Tonight the team will be having a meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy and dessert pregame supper from Z’s. The team will gather for a meal after the game tomorrow night, it will be pizza provided by the parents.
In celebration of 125 years of Iowa Wesleyan University Football, Tom Horne, Head Coach for the Tiger Football team from 1982-1984, will serve as the grand marshal of the 2015 Iowa Wesleyan University Homecoming parade this Saturday.
From 1982-1984, Horne was the head coach of the Iowa Wesleyan football team, he was just the second coach to take a Tiger football program into post season competition. In the 1984 season, Iowa Wesleyan had an 8-4 record and was invited to play in the Sunflower Bowl against Panhandle Oklahoma A & M where the Tigers were defeated 10-7 in overtime.
The parade will be held Saturday beginning at 10:30am, it will start in front of the Howe Student Activity Center. The route will continue south on Broadway, then turn east on Monroe St, then North on Main Street to return to campus.
