The Mt. Pleasant Panther volleyball team won two matches and lost two matches at the Wilton Tournament Saturday.  Panthers picked up victories against IMS and WMU, they lost to Durant and host school Wilton.

Iowa Wesleyan hosted the Blue Jays of Westminster College Saturday to open up play in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.  Iowa Wesleyan suffered a 24-7 defeat for their second loss in a row.  The Tiger defense allowed just one of the Westminster scores.

Iowa Wesleyan traveled to Rockford University for a non-conference men’s soccer match Saturday.  IW and Rockford ended in a 3-3 draw.

The Tigers were back on the road Sunday ,  Iowa Wesleyan took on Beloit College, after ending the first half tied at 1-1, IW suffered a 3-2 loss to fall to 1-3-1 on the season.  Iowa Wesleyan’s next game is September 14, 2016 at 4 pm. They will open up at home against Lakeland College.

The Iowa Wesleyan women’s soccer team traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin Saturday.  They faced Mount Mary University for a non-conference match up and lost 6-1.

Iowa Wesleyan split in their two matches played at Westminster Saturday.  The Tigers beat Fontbonne and then fell to Westminster.

The MP middle school cross country teams ran at the Fairfield invitational on Thursday, Sept. 8.  There were no team scores kept.  The top five boys were led by a 20th place finish of Drake Snavely, followed by Heath Brooks(29), Nathan McWilliams(47), Logan Lee(58), and Luke Ryon(68).  The girls were led by Cristina Carthey’s 6th place finish, followed by Abby Jalas(21), Anna Ostby(24), Kenna Lamm(36), Jessi Andrew(37), and Marie Sitar(39).

The 3rd ranked Washington Demons showed why they have such a lofty ranking In the Iowa high school football polls as they rolled over the Mt. Pleasant Panthers 47-12 on Evans Field Friday night.  Mt. Pleasant is now 1-2 overall and 0-1 in District play, they travel to Oskaloosa next to play the Indians who beat Ft. Madison 49-0 Friday night.

In the freshman game Washington won 48-25.

The JV game of Mt. Pleasant at Washington tonight has been cancelled.


There are a number of fall activities to sign up for at the Mt. Pleasant Parkl and Rec Department:

 Panther Basketball Camp 3rd-6th

This camp will focus on the basic fundamentals used in the game of basketball. Campers will learns how to defend opponents and implement the offensive techniques necessary to become a scorer! This camp will be an introduction to the Youth Basketball Program starting in November! Camp will be instructed by the Mount Pleasant High School Head Coach, Paul Rundquist.

 Musical Motion Class Ages 3-5

 Panther Cheerleading Camp K-5th

This camp offers the opportunity to develop the basic skills such as jumps, chants, and flexibilty exercises. Participants will practice 3 times before they perform at the Mount Pleasant High School Football game on October 14th against Fairfield. This camp will be instructed by Nikole Keaster, the Mount Pleasant high school head Cheer Coach.

K-1st will receive a pair of pom poms & 2nd-5th will recieve a giant pink hair bow.
