MOUNT PLEASANT Panther boy’s tennis team beat CENTERVILLE 7-2 Friday at East Lake Park in Mount Pleasant. The Panthers won the top four singles matches and all three doubles matches. Mount Pleasant’s Corbin Broeker beat Brady Hughes, 8-4, at No. 1. Jaxon Hoyle topped Otis Williams, 8-4; Donny Arledge defeated Jakob Bower, 8-6, and David Nguyen beat Reese Sells, 8-1. In doubles, Corbin Broeker and Jaxon Hoyle blanked Williams and Bower, 8-0. Donny Arledge and Jack Schimmelpfennig edged Hughes and Sells, 9-7, and David Nguyen and Clayton Henricksen topped McCain Odon and Austin Dell, 8-4.
In College baseball Friday, WESTMINSTER defeated IOWA WESLEYAN 14-1. Ian Cassidy limited Iowa Wesleyan to three hits and one run in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Mount Pleasant. Jacob Leonard, Chazz Brown and Dominic Gerace got the Tiger hits. Iowa Wesleyan dropped to 4-16 overall and 2-6 in the SLIAC. Westminster is 6-7, (2-2). Today Tigers and Blue Jays will play a double header with the first game starting at 1pm. Saturday will also be the second annual BBQ at the Ballpark. The Iowa Wesleyan Athletics department will be grilling out in the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex parking lot starting at 11:30 am.

Iowa Wesleyan women’s golf will play in their first spring season competition over the weekend in the Galesburg Spring Invitational. On Saturday they will be golfing at the Lake Bracken Country Club and tee off at noon. On Sunday they will be golfing at Soangetha Country Club and tee off at 9am.
Iowa Wesleyan softball will be at home for a conference series. On Saturday the Tigers will host Fontbonne University for a double header. First game will begin at 1pm out at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
