Two former Mt. Pleasant High School are golfers doing well for Simpson @ Iowa Conference fall meet, finals next week
tied for 16th Haley Booton, shooting 88-82—170 total
In 19th place Courtney Mabeus, 85-87—172 total. The final rounds of the tournament will be played next weekend.
Iowa Wesleyan University celebrated homecoming this week, the Tigers hosted the University of Northwestern in football action. The Tigers came ready to play and held the lead at the end of the first half, but they could not stop the run game of the Eagles and suffered a 25-18 loss to fall to 1-4 on the year. The Tigers will return to action next Saturday, they will host Saint Scholastica for a 12 pm kickoff.
Iowa lost their homecoming football game to Northwestern 38-31.
Iowa State fell to Baylor in Ames 45-42.
The Northern Iowa Panthers won their homecoming game 42-21 over Southern Illinois.
The Iowa Wesleyan women’s soccer team hosted Webster University Saturday afternoon for their second match of conference play this season. Wesleyan suffered a 12-0 loss, their next match will be Thursday when they will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on Fontbonne University. The match is set to start at 6 pm.
The Iowa Wesleyan men’s soccer team hosted Webster University Saturday and were defeated 5-2. Wesleyan plays today at 3 pm at East Lake Park. They will host Robert Morris University-Springfield in a non-conference contest. The Tigers are now 2-9-1 overall and 0-2 in SLIAC play.
