The Iowa Wesleyan men’s basketball opened the 2015-2016 season in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Tigers took third place.
Iowa Wesleyan opened up the tournament Friday against the host school, Carthage College and fell 86-84 in overtime. Brock Butler had a team high 18 points in the opening game for the Tigers. C.J. Singletary was right behind him, adding 17 points and 4 rebounds. Mitch Drey (JR/Gretna, NE), finished the game with 13 points. Chris Fowler (SR/Victorville, CA) added 11 points and four assists in the loss.
The Tigers drew Robert Morris-Peoria for their consolation game match up Saturday afternoon and picked up a 96-89 victory over the Eagles.
The Tigers next game will be Wednesday, November 18th. They will travel to Pella, Iowa to take on the Dutch of Central College at 8 pm.
Get ready girls basketball fans for the for the 9th Annual Iowa Wesleyan University High school Jamboree, tonight in Olan G. Ruble Arena on the Wesleyan Campus.

The five class champions have been crowned, in Class 5A Ankeny Centennial repeated as champion with a 3-1 win over Bettendorf. Class 4A saw Manchester West Delaware sweep Harlan. Class 3A had Nevada defeat West Liberty. Class 2A Western Christian won the title over Sumner-Fredericksburg. Class 1A title went home with Janesville who won over Sidney.
The Iowa High School Football playoffs held semifinal action at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls this past weekend. Here are the final pairings for this upcoming weekend:

Iowa men’s basketball team defeated Coppin State 103-68 in Carver Hawkeye Arena Sunday afternoon. Former Danville Bears Michael and Steven Soukup got some playing time but did not score.
The Iowa women’s team won over UT-Martin 62-56 to win the Hawkeye Challenge title.
IOWA HAWKEYE WRESTLING TEAM SET A NEW NCAA ATTENDANCE RECORD IN NILE KINNICK STADIUM IN FRONT OF 42,000 FANS AS THEY BEAT OKLAHOMA STATE 18-16 IN THE GRAPPLE ON THE GRIDIRON EVENT.
THE 6th RANKED HAWKEYE FOOTBALL TEAM THEN BATTLED MINNESOTA AND BROUGHT FLOYD OF ROSEDALE HOME WITH A 40-35 WIN.
OKLAHOMA STATE HAD TO COME FROM BEHIND TO PULL OUT A 35-31 WIN OVER IOWA STATE IN AMES.
UNI FOOTBALL TEAM WON 41-0 OVER MISSOURI STATE
COLORADO BEAT UNI IN MENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL 84-78
The Iowa High School Athletic Association will be giving out special awards to people who have been supportive of the state’s young athletes and students. The presentations will be during championship weekend.
