Girls varsity basketball coach Nick Maynard is stepping down.  The search for a new coach to head the program is underway.  Activities Director Scott Lamm also has to fill some volleyball coaching spots in the middle school and the varsity assistant and freshman coach.

The MPHS girls and boys track teams chalked up Southeast Conference championships on Maple Leaf Track Thursday night.  The Panther girls won their 6th straight title with 134 points, Fairfield scored 85, Washington 80, Ft. Madison 48 and Keokuk 45.  !st place winners were:  Lexi Magnani-shot put-34’11”.  Bailey Johnson-discus-102’ 11”.  Taylor Murray-1500-5:04.15.  Allison Buckert-100 hurdles-16.0.  4×200-Katie Ensminger, Jenna Hummell, Kalynn Batey, Brianna Shelman.  Sprint Medley-Dani Broeker, Kirsten Smith, Maggie Cristoforo, Taylor Murray.  Shuttle Hurdle-Maddie Williamson, Serenity Keomanivong, Allison Buckert and KaLynn Batey.

The MPHS boys team piled up 183 points to win the conference track ttitle.  Washington scored 70, Fairfield 56, Ft. Madison 44 and Keokuk 28.  1st place finishers:  Keegan Rich-long jump-20’ 11”.  Sam Beatty-High Jump-6’.  Rylan Seeberg-400 meters-52.81.  Jonathan Ita-2:04.14.  1600 meters-Cody Mertens-4:45 and 3200 meters 9:46.22.  Cole Burns-110 hurdles-15.47.  400 hurdles-Jordon Magnani-59.46.  4×100-Khang Truong, Nolan Quade, Rylan Seberg and Zach Beason.  4×200-Keegan Rich, Khang Truong, Brody McGhGhy, Ryan Hutchison.  4×400 Ryan Hutchison, Jacob Stukerjurgen, Kyle Vanderham, Tate Shull.  4×800-Ryan Hutchison, Adam Bodenham, Brody Bender, Kyle Vanderham.  8:31.63.  Sprint Medley-Khanng Truong, Nolan Quade, Chase Lamm, Rylan Seberg.  Distance Medley-Jordon Magnani, Tate Shull, Nolan Quade and Jacob Stukerjurgen.  Shuttle Hurdle Relay-Zach Beason, Chase Lamm, Cole Burns and Keegan Rich.

MPHS girls golf team finished 2nd at the Moravia Golf Invitational Thursday shooting 382, Kerri Herr was medalist for the tournament shooting a blazing 73. Other Panther scores:  Cali Liechty 100, Anni Liechty 101 and Chloe Beavers 108

Mt Pleasant girl’s tennis team scored a big win last night over Maharishi   9-0  Singles winners:  #1  Meagan Sutherland (MP)  def  Bridget Emmanuel  8-4  (MP record 1-7)

MPHS boy’s tennis team fell to Maharishi 8-1, Corbin Broker and Jaxon Hoyle won a doubles match for the Panther point.

MPHS boys soccer beat Ft. Madison 2-0 in conference soccer.
