The MPHS girls and boys track teams swept the Southeast Conference Track Meet titles at Washington yesterday. The Panther girls won with 144 points to win followed by 2nd place Washington with 73. First place finishers: Lexie Magnani shot put 38’ 6”. Abby Ryon 3000 meter run 11:11.92, Maggie Cristoforo 400 meter dash 1:02.08 and 400 meter hurdles 1:07.62, Serenity Keomanivong 16.44, 4×800 relay Maggie Cristoforo, Claire Holtkamp, Maggie Jennings and Taylor murray 10:28.82, Shuttle Hurdle Relay Maddie Williamson, Karsyn Lamm, Kalynn Batey and Serenity Keomanivong 1:09.58.
The MPHS boy’s track team raced to a Southeast conference team title with 178 points, Washington was 2nd with 77. First place finishers: Zach Beason Discus 151’ 5”, 200 meter dash Khang Truong 23.59. Sam Beatty high jump 6’, Keegan Rich long jump 22’ 1.5”, Cody Mertens 3200 meter run 9:52.54 and 1600 meter run 4:43.66, Rylan Seberg 100 meter dash 11.85, Cole Burns 110 high hurdles 15.11, Kyle Vanderham 800 meters 2:02.46, Chase Lamm 400 hurdles 58.04. 4×800 relay Brody Bender, Dalton Moyle, Jonathan Ita and Kyle Vanderham 8:34.38, Shuttle Hurdle relay Keegan Rich, Chase Lamm, Cole Burns and Konnor Peterson 58.63 meet record. Distance Medley Relay Tate Shull, Zach Beason, Hoang Mai and Jacob Stukerjergen 3:47.49, 4×400 relay Brody Bender, Jacob Stukerjergen, Jonathan Ita and Kyle Vanderham 3:38.48.
The Southeast Iowa Super Conference held their conference track meets yesterday also. In the Southern Division West Burlington-Notre Dame won the girls title with 149 points, Danville 2nd with 117 and New London 3rd 94, . In the boy’s class WBND won with 166.5, Cardinal 2nd 93, Central Lee was 3rd with 76. New London was 5th and Waco 6th.
In the northern division the girl’s title was won by Mediapolis 174 points, Pekin 2nd 101, WMU was 5th. In the Northern boy’s division Pekin won with 154 points, Wapello had 152 points for 2nd, WMU was 7th.
The MPHS girl’s golf team played in a golf quadrangular at Washington yesterday. The Demons shot 322 to win the event Centerville shot a 381 and Mt. Pleasant carded at 407. For the Panthers Elli Liechty shot 99, Anni Liechty 101, Michal Wohlleber 103 and Tori Witthoft 104. Ann Nachos of Washington medaled with a 74 score.
Fairfield Maharishi defeated the MPHS boy’s tennis team 8-1 at Maharishi. The lone win for the Panthers was in the #3 doubles with Elijah Plooster and Donny Arledge winning.
MPHS Varsity Girls Soccer won 3-0 over Fort Madison. Goals scored by Kaela Welcher and Sydney Doak.
