Mt Pleasant hosted the Panther Co-Ed Relays yesterday. For the girls team they finished 3rd in the sprint medley at 1:58.83 with the team of Karsyn Lamm, Kenna Lamm, Maggie Cristoforo, and Avery Sutter. In the distance medley Panthers were 3rd at 4:30.32 with Maddie Williamson, Kendall Dascher, Maggie Jennings, and Abby Ryon. 4×100 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 5th at 52.88 with Karsyn Lamm, Kenna Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger, and Avery Sutter. 4×200 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 3rd at 1:54.39 with Kendall Dascher, Kenna Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger, and Avery Sutter. In the 4×400 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 5th at 4:41.47 with Kendall Dascher, Lyndi Vantiger, Avery Sutter, and Maggie Jennings. In the 4×800 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 4th at 11:26.95 with the team of Cristina Carthey, Monroe Swain, Abby Blint, and Aurora Vansickel. In the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle Mt Pleasant finished 1st at 1:11.78 with the team of Maddie Williamson, Kenna Lamm, Serenity Keomanivong, and Karsyn Lamm.

100 meter dash Jenna Gilmore ran 14.77, Sydni Coleman at 15.18, and Abby Ross was at 15.71. In the 200 meter dash Allison Elmore finished at 32.01 and Ralyn Seberg was at 32.56. 400 meter dash Maggie Cristoforo finished 3rd at 1:02.14, and Jessi Andrew ran 1:18.64. 100 meter hurdles Karsyn Lamm was 2nd at 17.14, Maddie Williamson was 5th at 18.00, and Serenity Keomanivong was 7th at 18.15. In the 400 meter hurdles Maggie Cristoforo was 1st at 1:08.03 and Jenn Gilmore ran 1:22.88. In the 800 meter run Maggie Jennings ran 2:33.25, and Gisele Fajardo was at 3:02.01. In the 1,500 meter run Abby Ryon was 2nd at 4:58.37 and Cristina Carthey ran 5:41.11. 3,000 meter run Claire Holtkamp ran 12:58.43. In the long jump Lyndi Vantiger was 6th at 14’8” and Janna Gilmore was 7th at 14’. In the discus throw Alyssa Striegel was 3rd at 106’2”, Grace Kelley was 5th at 103’6”, and Alyssa Dascher threw 70’7”. In the shot put Lexie Magnani was 1st with a throw of 40’9”, Jaden Brumbaugh threw 30’7”, and Grace Kelley was 26’11”.

 

 

For the boys team in the sprint medley Mt Pleasant finished at 1:46.79 with Hoang Mai, Dalton Church, Colton Hutson, and Mason Mills. Distance medley Panthers were 2nd at 3:40.44 with Khang Truong, Chase Lamm, Rylan Seberg, and Jacob Stukerjurgen. 4×100 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 4th at 45.22 with Khang Truong, Chase Lamm, Kyle Samples, and Rylan Seberg. 4×200 meter relay Mt Pleasant finished at 1:46.83 with Nathan McWilliams, Dalton Church, Colton Hutson, and Josh Mueller. In the 4×400 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 2nd at 3:36.17 with Tate Shull, Sam Beatty, Avante Henley, and Jacob Stukerjurgen. 4×800 meter relay Mt Pleasant was 6th at 9:47.07 with Dylon Hagans, Drake Snavely, Luke Ryon, and Nick McCormick. 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle Mt Pleasant was 1st at 1:01.19 with Zach Beason, Tate Shull, Konner Peterson, and Chase Lamm.

In the 100 meter dash Chase Williamson ran 12.27, Kyle Samples was 12.58, and Brock Duncan ran 13.54. Hoang Mai was 12th in the 200 meter dash at 25.67. 400 meter dash Mason Mills ran 58.04 and Drake Snavely ran 1:01.48. In the 800 meter run Brody Bender was 3rd at 2:04.64 and Dalton Moyle was 8th at 2:14.49. In the 1,600 meter run Cody Mertens was 1st at 4:40.17 and Heath Brooks ran 5:28.70. In the 3,200 meter run Cody Mertens was 3rd at 10:18.48 and Dalton Moyle was 6th at 10:37.86. 110 meter hurdles Chase Lamm was 2nd at 15.60, Jack Johnson was 9th at 17.56, and Konner Peterson ran 18.20. In the high jump Sam Beatty was 1st with a jump of 6’4”. In the long jump Rylan Seberg finished 1st with a jump of 21’11” and Kyle Samples was 7th at 18’4”. In the discus Zach Beason was 3rd at 139’9”, Cooper Pullis was 5th at 128’”, and Garrett Maddy was 10th at 119’. In the shot put Riley McQuiggin was 1st at 47’8”, Henry Lutovsky was 3rd at 45’7”, and Cooper Pullis was 8th at 44’.

 

 

Mt Pleasant girls tennis team played at Notre Dame-West Burlington yesterday. Panthers won their first competition of the season 7-2. In singles Hallie Sandeen defeated Bethany Shane 8-5, Shaleen Thiengmany beat Cortney Erickson 8-2, Breeana Runyon won 8-2 over Binita Gautum, Sierra Barton defeated Abbi McAttee 8-1, Olivia Larson beat Elle Rheinschmidt 8-2. In doubles Thiengmany/Runyon won 8-3 over Erickson/Gautum, and Barton/Larson won 8-0 over Shutu Xian/McAttee.

 

Mt Pleasant boys tennis hosted Davis County yesterday out at East Lake Park. Panthers were able to get their first win by the score of 5-4. In singles Corbin Broeker defeated Luke Snyder 8-5, Jaxon Hoyle beat Carson Zeitler 8-5, David Nguyen topped Ivan Garcia 8-6, and Jack Schimmelfennig won over Kade Tharp 8-5. In doubles Broeker/Hoyle won their match 8-3.

-Saturday: Varsity boys soccer playing in an invitational at Fort Madison starting at 9am

 

Iowa Wesleyan men’s golf is competing in the Jim Wetherbee Memorial Tournament, hosted by Knox College in Galesburg Illinois. Today the Tigers will tee off at noon and resume play tomorrow morning at 8:30am.

Iowa Wesleyan baseball is on the road this weekend for a conference series with Eureka College. Tigers are 3-12-1 on the season and the Red Devils are 4-8. Tomorrow they will play a double header starting at noon and then one game on Sunday at 3pm.

Iowa Wesleyan softball was scheduled to play Spalding University tomorrow in a conference double header but have postponed those games. Sunday’s games against Blackburn are still on, first game against the Beavers will begin at noon.

 

On April 20th there is going to be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament taking place at Mt Pleasant Middle School. There are several age groups for male and female teams to compete in. College Basketball:

-Iowa women’s basketball is still in the dance. Making it to the Sweet 16 the #2 seed Hawkeyes will play #3 NC State on March 30th at 10:30am in Greensboro North Carolina.
