IWC’s baseball and softball teams are opening their seasons at home. The Tiger men’s team opened the home season yesterday afternoon against Monmouth in non-conference play. They had an early lead but it was short lived however as Monmouth had three runs in the second inning. The only other scoring for the Tigers came in with 4th inning. IWC lost to Monmoth 11 to 3. IWC was outhit 8 to 16 and they left 11 runners on the base. Michael Edgcomb was given the loss for the game. The Tiger women play at home this Saturday for a double header against Blackburn starting at 1 pm.
The NCAA tournament has opened. Today on AM 1130, we bring you the ISU men’s basketball team playing against Alabama Birmingham in Louisville. Coverage will start around 11 am. Tomorrow, the University of Iowa will play. They will play Davidson in Seattle. We will bring you coverage starting at 5 pm on 105.5 FM.
UPCOMING SPORTS: Friday, the boys track team goes to Central College. Saturday, the girls track team competes at Central College.
WACO Alumni we NEED YOU…The 3rd annual WACO vs. WMU alumni game is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 31st at 8p.m. This 2015 game will be held at the Winfield complex during Crooked Creek Days. Interested WACO Alumni should sign-up at www.alumnifootballusa.com. A minimum of 25 alumni athletes from each school are necessary for the game to be officially scheduled. Less than 25 signed up athletes will cause the game to be be cancelled. Alumni Football USA and WACO Alumni athletes have raised more than $5,000 to benefit WACO Athletics . Warriors, let’s keep the tradition alive and have some fun playing football. Please help us spread the word.
