Mt. Pleasant High School baseball hosted Oskaloosa at home last night and fell 0 to 10. The game was called after 5 innings. The Panthers had one hit by Cooper Huckabone. Mt. Pleasant is now 5-7 on the season and plays at Notre Dame today.
Other baseball scores: Danville beat Holy Trinity 7-1 and Mediapolis won over W-MU 14-10.
No. 7 ranked Class 4A Mt. Pleasant High School softball started their season with 9 wins but the streak was ended last night by No. 5 Class 2A Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the Davis County tournament. Mt. Pleasant first played Davis County, winning 10-0. They then lost to E-B-F 5-1 and turned it around and defeated Albia 8-1.
Class 1A No. 8 New London won two of their three games at the tournament. They lost to Albia 8-0, then defeated E-B-F 4-1 and then won over Davis County 9-2.

In golf, W-MU competed yesterday in the Class 1A State Coed Doubles Golf Tournament. Sophie Kongable and Kable Hagge were part of a four-way tie for 16th. They finished with an 82.
The 2016 Spring Academic All-Conference SLIAC awards have been announced. 192 student-athletes were on the list this year and Iowa Wesleyan had nine on the list. To receive the award, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be at least a sophomore and be at the institution for at least a year. For IW baseball, receiving awards were Jarred Boyer, Cole Fanselow, Travis Kostello and Alex Payne. In softball, receiving awards were: Samantha McIlwain, Caitlin O’Neill, Skyler Rodgers, Kassie Vazquez and Alli Willis.
