MPHS softball team went to Danville and won a double header Saturday 5-3 and 6-4.

Mt. Pleasant Panther varsity baseball team swept Muscatine 4-2 and 7-0 Saturday in Muscatine.  Game one Colby Potts pitched the win with relief from Jaxon Hoyle.  Caleb Potts and Hoyle had doubles.  In game two Jordon Magnani got the win on the mound and Cooper Huckabone had a double and four RBI’s.

The 2018 high School boys’ soccer state championships were decided over the weekend in Des Moines.  The 1A championship was captured by Iowa City Regina over Des Moines Christian 2-1.  Class 2A the title was won by Pella over Storm Lake 3-2.  Waukee won their 1st state soccer title 3-0 over Bettendorf.

Now it’s time for the girls’ soccer teams to decide their State Soccer Tournament participants.  The Mt. Pleasant Panther girl’s soccer team is one win away from qualifying for state as they play in a Class 2A Regional Final at Pella against #3 ranked Pella at 6 pm tonight.

In Class 1A Regional Championship action #1 ranked Davenport Assumption will be hosting Holy Trinity Catholic at 6 pm.

The Southeast Iowa Track and Field Camp will be held in Mt. Pleasant June 11th thru the 14th from 8-11 am.  The camp is for girls and boys in grades 4-9 and costs $30.  The camp staff is current and former Mt. Pleasant Panther athletes and coaches.  Campers will receive instruction on techniques of sprinting, hurdles, distance events and field events.  Campers will also get a camp t-shirt, camper evaluation, camp photo and individual photo.  Call Mitch Anderson head boys track and cross country coach to register 712-314-6508.

The MP Firecracker 5K run is coming up on the 4th of July at McMillan Park beginning at 8 am.  Pre-register for $20 and get a free t-shirt.  Register day of the race for $20 without t-shirt.  Kids 10 and under are free, may purchase a t-shirt for $5 with preregistration.  Contact Mitch Anderson at 712-314-6508 for more information, order forms available at
