Mt. Pleasant High School girls softball team finished what they’d started earlier in the season.  They completed a suspended game last night against Keokuk.  It had to be stopped in the 3rd inning due to weather on May 31st.  The no. 11 ranked Class 4A team picked it up and ran with it, defeating the 7th ranked Keokuk team.  Winning pitcher was Bailey Johnson.  Today, the Panthers host Burlington for a double header.

The boys baseball team had the night off but they are back at it today, playing at a tournament in Waterloo.  They play Corydon-Wayne in the first round and will then face either Davenport North Or Eagle Grove in the second round.

In other scores softball scores from last night: the no. 5 ranked New London team defeated Winfield-Mt. Union handily last night 20-0, Louisa-Muscatine topped Central Lee 4-1, Wapello topped Pekin 13-3 and it was Lone Tree over Columbus 11-2.

From baseball scores last night: Burlington won over Cedar Rapids Washington 13-3, Danville defeated Iowa Mennonite 12-6, New London beat Winfield-Mount Union 4-1 and Wapello topped Pekin 8-3.

Tonight’s softball games feature: Burlington at Mt. Pleasant, Van Buren at West Burlington-Notre Dame, Central Lee at New London, Keokuk is at the Solon Classic, Mediapolis travels to Columbus, WACO is at Wapello and Winfield-Mount Union is at Pekin.
