It was a quiet weekend for Mt. Pleasant High School sports teams with no games scheduled for Saturday.  But today it’s back to work for the Panthers tonight.  The 6th ranked MPHS softball team has a big matchup with #8 ranked Fairfield, the Southeast Conference battle will be played on the Trojans home field, 1st pitch in the double header will be at 5:30 p.m.  Thursday the Panther girls play at 7th ranked Keokuk, Friday they are in a tournament in Ottumwa.

The MPHS baseball team is traveling to Fairfield tonight for double header Southeast Conference play with 1st pitch at 5:30 p.m.  Wednesday the Panthers travel to L&M for JV-varsity action.  Thursday they go to Keokuk for a conference twin bill and Saturday play in the Williamsburg Tournament.

The Mt. Pleasant Community School District Board of Directors meet tonight and will act on several coaching changes in the Mt. Pleasant school district.  Kim Kruse is being hired as the Activities Secretary, Kevin Yeoman will be approved as assistant varsity wrestling coach.  Kirby Booton will be named head girls varsity golf coach and Rob Zeglen will be named head varsity boys golf coach, Olivia Edgington has been chosen as the Middle School Cheerleading Coach.



Mt Pleasant Girls Basketball team is holding a Jr Panther Camp for all girls entering grades 4-8 June 20th-June 21st. For more information or to register, visit the Mt. Pleasant school website or contact coach Maynard.


Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield will battle in an Alumni Football game Saturday June 18th in Fairfield.  Advance tickets are on sale right now for $10 each from Alumni game participants. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. night of the game.
