New London rolled over Keota 13-0 in the Regional quarter final softball game played at Cardinal of Eldon High School last night. Morgan Chrsitner led the defense throwing a no hitter and striking out all 9 outs in the 3 inning game. Victoria Noel and Emma Pry each had 3 hits to lead the Tiger offense. #2 ranked New London is now 28-2 and will host Cardinal in the Regional semi final Friday night, the Comets 13-20 beat Van Buren last night 9-2. Other scores from the Regional had Sigourney beat Moulton Udell 13-0 and North Mahaska beat Moravia 4-0, those winners play at Sigourney Friday night.
Class 2A Regional play last night saw Eddyville Blakesburg beat Pekin 5-1, CMB blanked West Marshall 7-0, Iowa City Regina shut out Columbus Community 10-0, Wapello knocked off Lisbon 7-3. Wapello will travel to Regina Friday night for semi final action, the other winners play at Eddyville.
Class 3A Regional scores: West Liberty beat West Burlington-Notre Dame 3-1, Mt. Vernon shut out Mediapolis 12-0, Northeast Goose Lake won 5-0 over L&M, Anamosa shut out Camanche 3-0. #12 Mid Prairie 12 Central Lee 0.
Class 4A Regional play begins tonight at 7 p.m. for the Mt. Pleasant Panther varsity softball team. The 17-19 Panthers will be hosting Ft. Madison who has a 14-15 won-loss record. The two teams have met twice previously for double headers and split each time. M.P. has two wins of 8-6 and 8-2. Ft. Madison scored 2 wins by scores of 3-1 and 8-4. KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the game live beginning at 7 p.m. Tonight’s winner will advance to play at Keokuk Saturday night in a 7 p.m. semi final game. The other half of the Regional has Central DeWitt at Davenport North and that winner plays at Davenport Assumption Saturday evening.
Class 5A Regional competition begins tonight also, Burlington does not play till Saturday when the Grayhounds visit Bettendorf .
Mt. Pleasant has a busy day in high school baseball. The varsity team goes to Fairfield to play a makeup double header that was rained out Monday night. Game time is noon. The Panthers then board the bus and come home to play a JV-Varsity double header at home

Henry County Fair has a couple of events you won’t want to miss. The always popular Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. in front of the grandstand Saturday night July 18th. Community 1st Credit Union will sponsor an IFPA sanctioned truck and tractor pull in front of the grandstand at 4 p.m. Sunday July 19th.
WMU vs. WACO Alumni Football Game…Friday July 31st, kickoff is at 8:00pm at WMU High School football field. Tickets are available for purchase from any player as well at Winfield City Hall. Presale tickets are $10.00 each and $5.00 from each presale ticket is given back to WMU.
