Mt. Pleasant Panther Athletic teams get back into action today. The MPHS wrestling team is 1-6-1 and will travel to the Eddyville-Blakesburg Tournament.

The MPHS girls and boys basketball teams play at West Burlington. The 5-2 Panthers open the action at 2 p.m. against a 2-8 Falcon team. Followed by the 1-5 Panther boys who will play the 2-4 Falcons at 3:30 p.m. KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the action of both games live.

 

The Mediapolis wrestling team dropped 3 matches at the “Clash” duals held in Rochester, Minnesota this weekend. Bulldogs fell to the Jefferson Dragons of Georgia 36-31, Jackson County Central of Minnesota beat MEPO 39-32 and Bulldogs then fell to Grant, Illinois 39-23. Mediapolis who is 11-4 on the year have 3 more duals today.

WOMENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL-Greenville at Iowa Wesleyan 1 p.m.

MENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL-Greenville at IWC 3 p.m. ISU vs South Carolina in Brooklyn, N.Y. on KILJ-AM 1130 at 4:30 p.m.

 

The Iowa Hawkeye football team fell hard in the Tax Slayer Bowl in Florida Friday, losing to Tennessee 45-28. Both teams end their season 7-6. Tennessee filled with optimism for next year and Iowa feeling a lot of doubt right now.

 

The #1 ranked Iowa wrestling team rolled over Rutgers on the road 27-9.
