Mt Pleasant 8th grade boys basketball played at Aldo Leopold yesterday. In the A game Mt Pleasant won 43-25, Carter Amos led the team with 14 points and Kyler Stott had 12. That was the only game played between the two teams.

Mt Pleasant 7th grade girls basketball hosted Aldo Leopold yesterday. In the A game Mt Pleasant won 35-18, Andi Scott was the leading scorer with 10 points. In the B game Aldo Leopold won 9-8, Jolynn Keomanivong was the leading scorer with 4 points.

 

Local area girls basketball results:

-West Burlington snapped a 15 game losing streak to #10 Central Lee last night 52-46, last time the Lady Falcons won against the Lady Hawks was 2011. Mya Merschman led Central Lee with 24 points and Annaka Harris led West Burlington with 13.

-Van Buren defeated Holy Trinity 48-42. Taryn Scheuermann led the Warriors with 25 points and Emily Box had 19 for the Crusaders.

-Keokuk beat West Hancock 55-32. Mackenzie Northrup scored 15 points for the Chiefs.

Local area boys basketball:

-Van Buren beat Holy Trinity 62-50. Mason McDonough led the Warriors with 14 points and Matt Hellige had 15 for the Crusaders.

-West Burlington won 64-37 over Central Lee. Tanner Snodgrass led the Falcons with 14 points and Bronson Sargent had 17 for the Hawks.

 

Sports scheduled for Mt Pleasant:

Tuesday: Varsity Bowling’s meet at Mahaska Bowling Alley vs Centerville, Davis County, and Oskaloosa has been rescheduled to this Friday, February 1st

8th grade boys basketball has to postpone their game at Fort Madison

Iowa City Regina vs Mt Pleasant boys basketball has been postponed for tonight, game is rescheduled for February 11th

Thursday: 7TH grade girls basketball will play at Edward Stone 4:30pm

8th grade boys basketball will host Edward Stone 4:30pm

Varsity Wrestling has a quad meet at Marion High 5pm

Varsity & JV girls basketball will host Benton Community 5:30/7pm

 

 Tonight Iowa Wesleyan basketball will be hosting Principia for a conference double header. Iowa Wesleyan women’s basketball is 3-14 overall and 2-9 in conference games, they will be playing a Panthers team that is 1-14 overall. The women’s game will tip off at 5:30pm. The Tigers men’s team enters tonight 5-14 overall and 3-9 in conference games, they will face a Principia squad that is 3-15 overall and 2-9 in conference games. The men’s game will tip off at 7:30pm.
