Last night we were broadcasting the New London at Danville double header. In the girls game it was Danville with their lockdown defense winning 50-29. Bears were led by Bailee Morris who scored 17 points and Isabella Smith added in 14.

In the boys game it was #4 New London dominating the Bears. At halftime the Tigers had 32 points while only allowing Danville to score 8. New London won by the final score of 66-35. New London boys basketball will be playing on Monday night in Panther Gym against Mt Pleasant.


Mt Pleasant basketball hosted Fairfield for a conference double header last night. In the girls game it was the Trojans winning 62-43. In the boys game Fairfield won by the score of 47-38, Sam Beatty led the Panthers with 15 points and Keegan Kohorst had 11. Mt Pleasant boys basketball will be back in action today against Class 2A #2 ranked Camanche up in the Wells Fargo Shootout taking place in the US Cellular Center, game time is 1:15pm on 105.5fm and

In the JV games for Mt Pleasant the boys team won 69-67 in overtime. Brevin Wilson hit the game winner with 9 seconds left to play. JV girls lost to Fairfield 42-30. Mt Pleasant freshman boys

-Mediapolis beat Highland 61-52

-Wapello won 52-12 over Winfield-Mt Union

-Waco defeated West Burlington 47-34

-Fort Madison held on to win 49-48 over Keokuk

Local girls basketball results:

-Wapello over Winfield-Mt Union 50-36

-Mediapolis defeated Highland 64-59, if Bullettes win out they will be conference champs

-Central Lee beat Notre Dame 56-36

-Keokuk won 56-21 over Fort Madison

-Pekin beat Columbus 61-9

-West Burlington defeated Waco 58-37


Sports scheduled for Mt Pleasant:

Saturday: Varsity wrestling will be competing in a tournament in Centerville starting at 9:30am. Other schools wrestling include Bondurant-Farrar, Centerville, Chariton, Columbus Junction, Creston, Fairfield, Interstate 35, Kirksville, Knoxville, Ottumwa, PCM, St Joseph Lafayette, Van Buren, and Winterset.

Varsity boys basketball will be playing in the Wells Fargo Shootout in the US Cellular Center against Camanche at 1:15pm.


Due to the snow Iowa Wesleyan’s road trip down to St Louis to play Fontbonne in a conference double header has been postponed to Monday, January 21st. On that Monday the women’s team will play at 1pm and the men’s game will be at 3pm. Other conference matchups that had to be postponed were Westminster at Greenville and Principia at Webster.

College Basketball this weekend:

#20 Iowa State is on a roller coaster stretch of the season. Last Saturday they shocked #5 Kansas but then lost at Baylor. Tomorrow morning they will look to bounce back at Kansas State. Game time is 11am and pregame coverage will begin at 10am on 1130am and
