The Mt. Pleasant varsity girls basketball team continues to build steam as they move through the middle part of their season. A very lackluster 1st half of basketball cost the Mt. Pleasant Panther boys varsity team a win at Washington Friday night. The Demons led 11-6 at the end of the 1st quarter and 24-13 at halftime. In the 2nd half M.P. played better defense and handled the ball better and that allowed them to pull within 3 points of the Demons late in the game but it turned out to be too deep of a hole for the Panthers to dig out of. Brady Sartorius led the scoring with 15 points, Kieran Kohorst had 13 and Jordon Magnani 10. Today the Panthers travel to Central Lee to play the Hawks in JV and varsity action, game time for the JV game has been moved up to a 2:00 p.m. start followed by the varsity game.  KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the varsity game beginning at 3:30 p.m. Central Lee fell to Holy Trinity Catholic last night 55-37.
