Mt. Pleasant High School swept all four basketball games they played at West Burlington on Saturday.  Win 1 was a 60-11 JV girl’s win by the Panthers.  Brianna Shellman led the scoring with 15 points.  Win 2 was the JV boys 68-52 over the Falcons.  Win 3 was the varsity Panther girls winning their 4th game in a row with an 82-38 roll over the Falcons.  Kelsi Phipps had 20 points, Shelby Allender added 14, Hannah Becker and Natalie Ita each had 11.  The 4th win on Saturday was the varsity Panther boys winning for the 2nd time this season picking up a 57-40 victory.  M.P. was led by Brady Sartorius with 19 points and Jordon Magnani hitting 14.  The MPHS girls games at Solon and MPHS boys games with Iowa City High at home tonight have been postponed with no reschdule date yet.

 

The MPHS wrestling team went 1-4 at the Eddyville Blakesburg wrestling duals Saturday.  The lone win was a 54-27 win over Highland.  M.P. lost to S.E. Warren 57-21, Newton 43-36, Eddyville-Blakesburg 54-21 and Iowa Valley 40-30.  Colten Mertens and Jackson Kelly were undefeated on the day.

 

Iowa Wesleyan College hosted Greenville College in SLICA Conference action Saturday.  The Tiger women won 73-48 led by Karla Vietinghoff’s 19 points, Breanna Hall and Lauren Grubb each scored 11.  The lady Tigers remain undefeated in the league at 4-0 and 7-4 overall.  They host MacMurray College Tuesday.  The IWC men fell in a heart breaker 72-70 to Greenville the conference leaders.  IWC was led by C. J. Singletary with 18 points, Mitch Drey had 13.  The Tiger men 4-5 (1-3) also host MacMurray Tuesday as part of a double header with the women.  KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry both games live.

SUNDAY-Dallas at Green Bay and Indianapolis at Denver.

 

 

The Mt. Pleasant Athletic Booster club New Year’s Shootout is coming up January 17th and 18th 2015. Ages competing will be 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls and boys.
