Corey Lamm head coach of the Class 2A State Boys Track and Field Champion West Burlington-Notre Dame Falcons has received a national honor to go along with state honors for winning his 1st state team title.  Lamm a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School was named the Iowa high school boy’s track coach of the year by the United States Track and Field Coaches Association.  Corey will now be considered for the National Coach of the year that will be selected later this month.

The Mt. Pleasant Athletic Booster Club along with the Mt. Pleasant Community School District are making some cosmetic changes to the Maple Leaf Athletic Complex.  The booster club is installing new fencing around the football field-track area and putting down a new players pad where the teams stand on the sidelines, these projects will be done by the opening of the 2015 football season.  The school district will be paying for the resurfacing of the Maple Leaf Track, that work will take place in early September.

Lee County Fair, re-scheduled Illinois Farm Pullers Association Pulls and Local Truck Pulls are scheduled for this Saturday, August 8th at 6pm.
