FROM THE IRIS BOWLING CENTER AND SPLITZ LOUNGE SPORTS DESK.

Mt. Pleasant swept Ottumwa in varsity volleyball in Panther Gym last night 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.  Mt. Pleasant looked good in all aspects of the game.  Their service and service receive was consistent, the front lines also were solid in hitting and blocking.  Mt. Pleasant won the freshman match and Ottumwa won the JV match.

Mt. Pleasant will play in the Osceola Clarke tournament Saturday.

OTHER VOLLEYBALL SCORES:  Clinton swept Burlington 3-0.

Natalie Taylor has been named the new head women’s golf coach at Iowa Wesleyan University.  Natalie graduated from Mt. This Friday night August 26th is week one of the 2016 high school football season.   Clear Creek Amana comes to Mount Pleasant to tangle with the Panthers under the new Musco lighting system installed recently.   The Clippers return a 1,000-yard rusher in Drake Brezina, and a good share of their defense. They won five of their last six regular-season games last year after a 0-3 start. The freshmen teams will meet at 5 p.m. and the varsity tilt will follow, KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will broadcast the varsity game live beginning with our pregame shows at 6:30 pm.
