The Iowa Wesleyan university Tiger football team under the direction of Tom Parkevich has started their practice sessions for the 2015 season. Parkevich took over the helm of the Tigers’ football team in 2012. In his first year as the head coach at Iowa Wesleyan, the Tigers went 3-8 on the year. During his second season, IW finished the season 2-8. Last season, Parkevich and the Tigers recorded the first winning season in 20 years for Iowa Wesleyan football, finishing with an overall record of 6-4. The 2015 season will open with the Tigers playing at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa on September 5th at 7 p.m.. The 1st home game is September 19th vs Greenville College.
Iowa Wesleyan also has started volleyball practice. The program is headed by B.J. Wagy who enters her second year at the helm of the Tigers after joining the Iowa Wesleyan athletic staff as the new volleyball coach for the 2014-2015 season. Their season opener is September 2nd when they host Simpson College. Wesleyan is coming off a 2014 season where they had an overall record of 6-24, 4-14 was their won-loss record in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Zach Johnson who is coming off a stunning win at the British Open is getting ready to play in the 2015 PGA Championship Golf Tournament at Sheboygan, Wisconsin on the Whistling Straits Course.
