Mt Pleasant girls track hosted the Panther Relays yesterday. Cedar Rapids Prairie won the Class A team title with 132 points and Mt Pleasant was second with 107. Pekin won the Class B team title with 133.5 points.

100 meter dash: Avery Sutter ran 13.62 and Serenity Keomanivong was at 15.02

200 meter dash: Avery Sutter at 28.20 and Kendall Dascher ran 30.35

400 meter dash: Jessi Andrew at 1:14.64

800 meter run: Maggie Jennings was 3rd at 2:31.64 and Cristina Carthey was 6th at 2:41.25

1500 meter run: Abby Ryon was 4th at 5:11.68 and Aurora Vansickel ran 5:59.89

3000 meter run: Abby Ryon was 1st at 10:49.12 and Claire Holtkamp ran 13:02.31

100 meter hurdles: Karsyn Lamm was 1st at 17.12 and Maddie Williamson was 2nd at 17.15

400 meter hurdles: Maggie Cristoforo was 1st at 1:06.02 and Jenna Gilmore was 10th at 1:19.86

High Jump: Serenity Keomanivong was 8th with a jump of 4’6”

Long Jump: Lyndi Vantiger was 2nd with a jump of 16’6” and Jenna Gilmore was 9th at 14’5”

Shot Put: Lexie Magnani was 1st at 40’1/2” and Jaden Brumbaugh threw 35’

Discus: Grace Kelly was 5th with a throw of 106’1” and Alyssa Striegel threw 94’2”

4×100 meter relay: Mt Pleasant was 7th at 52.78 with the team of Maddie Williamson, Karsyn Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger, and Kenna Lamm

4×200 meter relay:

4×400 meter relay: Mt Pleasant finished 4th at 4:16.40 with the team of Kendall Dascher, Maggie Jennings, Kenna Lamm, and Maggie Cristoforo

4×800 meter relay: Mt Pleasant finished 4th at 11:05.05 with the team of Monroe Swain, Aurora Vansickel, Ralyn Seberg, and Cristina Carthey

Sprint Medley: Mt Pleasant finished 3rd at 1:59.16 with the team of Maddie Williamson, Karsyn Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger, and Kendall Dascher

Distance Medley: Mt Pleasant was 1st at 4:24.66 with the team of Kenna Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger, Maggie Cristoforo, and Maggie Jennings

4×100 meter shuttle hurdle: Mt Pleasant finished 2nd at 1:09.89 with the team of Maddie Williamson, Maggie Cristoforo, Kenna Lamm, and Karsyn Lamm

 

 

Mt Pleasant boys track competed in the Cedar Rapids Jefferson Relays. Cedar Rapids Kennedy finished 1st with 157 points, Iowa City West was 2nd with 98, and Mt Pleasant was 3rd with 97 points.

100 meter dash: Khang Truong was 5th at 11.48, Jack Johnson at 12.09, Chase Williamson ran 12.19, and Hoang Mai finished at 12.53

200 meter dash: Hoang Mai ran 25.05

400 meter dash: Rylan Seberg was 4th at 52.55, Tate Shull ran 55.22, and Mason Mills finished at 57.16

800 meter run: Jacob Stukerjurgen was 2nd at 2:01.52, Brody Bender was 4th at 2:06.87, Dalton Moyle was 1:07.49, and Cody Mertens ran 2:11.75

1600 meter run: Thad Brooks was 9th at 5:07.53, Heath Brooks at 5:23.54, Nick McCormick at 5:31.83, and Luke Ryon ran 5:44.98

3200 meter run: Cody Mertens was 1st at 10:20.09 and Heath Brooks finished at 13:04.16

110 meter hurdles: Chase Lamm was 1st at 15.22 and Jack Johnson ran 17.41

440 meter shuttle hurdle relay: Mt Pleasant was 3rd at 1:04.91

High Jump: Sam Beatty was 1st with a jump of 6’3.5”

Long Jump: Rylan Seberg was 1st with a jump of 21’7”

Shot Put: Riley McQuiggin was 2nd with a throw of 47’5.5”, Cooper Pullis was 3rd at 45’3”, and Henry Lutovsky was 4th at 44’7”

Discus: Zach Beason was 2nd with a throw of 162’11.5”

4×100 meter relay: Mt Pleasant was 4th at 44.79

4×400 meter relay: Mt Pleasant was 4th at 3:41.41

4×800 meter relay: Mt Pleasant was 8th at 9:43.18

 

 

Mt Pleasant boys golf played down at Keokuk against the Chiefs. Panthers won the match with a team score of 160 and Keokuk shot 197. Trace White and Bailey Shelledy led Mt Pleasant with scores of 39 each, Jake Moffett shot 40, Brevin Wilson was at 42, Rhett Zeglen had 44, and Reece Kempker shot 50. For the JV team Lane Wholleber shot a 54, Brett Baccam had a 55, and Evan Folker had 67.

 

Mt Pleasant boys soccer hosted Burlington out at East Lake Park. Panthers defended home turf and defeated the Greyhounds 3-1. Nathan Rauenbuehler scored on a PK goal, Cade Warner scored a goal with an assist by Dillan Malone, and Jadyn Vongsavath scored the final goal. This was a milestone game for head coach Neil Schmitz who picked up his 100th career victory.

 

 

Iowa Wesleyan golf hosted the Tiger Classic yesterday at the Sheaffer Golf Course in Fort Madison. Both men’s and women’s team competed in the event. Iowa Wesleyan men’s golf took 3rd place and the women’s team finished 2nd. The men’s team shot a score of 323 which tied with Westminster College, Mason Wills won the tiebreaker for the Tigers. Jaime Suarez led the team with a score of 75 and finished 3rd in individual scoring. Jeff Cox shot 78 and Blake Forsythe had an 81 on the day. For the women’s team they shot 406 and finished behind Waldorf University. Maggie Calease led the team with a 96, Claire Hanson shot 100, and Allie Massner along with Hannah Lien both shot 105. The men’s team will compete next week in the conference tournament and the women’s team is done for the spring season.

 

Iowa Wesleyan baseball moved their double header with MacMurray to yesterday. Tigers were able to win a close 3-2 game one over the Highlanders. Clayton Lathen pitched a complete game allowing just one hit and struck out four batters. Tavares Williams scored on a wild pitch, Jack de Burgh had a RBI single, and Michael Rojas had a RBI triple that put the team over the top. In game two the Tigers really got the offense going in a 14-3 win. Joe Morrison threw seven innings and allowed two runs, Mitchell Wilcox allowed one hit in his relief appearance. Joseph Mitchell was 4-4 at the plate scoring four runs and knocked in three RBIs, Dominic Gerace had three hits with two RBIs, and Nick Salas had five RBIs. Tigers are now 7-22-1 overall and 5-12 in conference games, they will be back in action at home tomorrow against Fontbonne University.

 

Iowa Wesleyan softball is on the road today for a conference double header at Eureka College. Tigers are 22-7 overall, 9-3 in conference play, and currently riding a six game winning streak. Red Devils are 16-4 overall and 8-2 in conference. First game will start at 3pm this afternoon.

Former Mt Pleasant Panther football standout Leonard Wester has signed a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wester had spent the past three years on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. The terms of his new deal with Jacksonville were not disclosed.
