Mt. Pleasant fell to 8th ranked Solon on the Spartans home turf Friday night 26-0. Senior running back Pat Canby gained 72 yards on 17 carries, that was the highlight of the MPHS offense that struggled against a physical Solon defense. Sophomore quarterback Zach Beason was 3 of 14 passing for 23 yards and had one ball intercepted as he received pressure all game long from the Spartans. Mt. Pleasant’s defense played well throughout the game and made the 8th ranked team in the state work hard for the points they got. Brody McGhGhy of the Panthers was shaken up during the game and taken off the field on a back board, but checked out o.k. at the hospital and should be available to play Friday night when Mt. Pleasant hosts Fairfield, the Trojans won their homecoming 41-0 over Ft. Madison Friday night.
