Smoke Blamed for Accident

Heavy smoke from a fire in Lee County apparently caused a two vehicle accident to occur in the 2400 block of Hwy 218.  Richard Sours of Rushville, Illinois was driving a semi south on 218.  He slowed down due to the smoke coming from a fire at 1957  255th Street.  The second vehicle driven by Marmion Heath of Basco, Illinois was stopped at the intersection of 255th Street and 218 headed west but waiting to proceed due to the smoke.  The semi struck Heath’s vehicle on the passenger side rear corner. No injuries were reported.
