Short Chase Ends in Arrest

On Friday June 17th, 2016 at approximately 6:59 pm the Henry County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of N Wilson Street in Mount Pleasant when the vehicle failed to yield before leading deputies on a short pursuit through Mount Pleasant in an attempt to elude them.  The driver later fled the vehicle on foot near the intersection of S Jay Street and E Warren Street before being apprehended a short distance away.

As a result of the incident the driver of the vehicle, Taylor Wood of Mount Pleasant, was charged with felony eluding, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving while revoked, failure to obey a stop sign, open container and an active warrant for domestic assault.
