Written by Anna Greiner on September 9, 2016

Sunday will be the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.  There will be several events in the area to commemorate the event.  That includes one in Fairfield.  It starts at 1 pm on the square.  There will be an Honor Guard, speakers and a bell ceremony and the public is invited.  Burlington will also hold an event of remembrance.  It begins Sunday at 7:46 am, the moment of the first plane attack, at the Burlington Fire Department.  There station bell will ring.  A moment of silence and reading of the names of fire and first responders who died will be read.  Today, KILJ will air a special program at 3 pm today.  “9/11: Rising Above With Tom Brokaw – 15th Year Anniversary” will air at 3 pm today on KILJ AM and FM.  It is brought to you by the Kimzey Funeral Home.
