SCC Restoring Truck for OT ExhibitWritten by Theresa Rose on July 14, 2016
Old Threshers will have a unique truck on display this year during the annual Reunion at the Transportation exhibit area in the Richard E. Oetken Heritage Museum B.
Restoration has been underway for 1919 service truck at SCC’s body shop in Burlington. Students will be painting the truck Monday and Tuesday (7-18 & -7/19).
The truck was originally purchased from Capone Enterprises of Chicago (yes Al Capone’s company) by Arledge Transfer. Arledge Transfer was a trucking company in Burlington for many years.
The transportation exhibit is a part of three new exhibits that will be dedicated just prior to this year’s Midwest Old Thresher Reunion. An early 1900’s service station and fire station make up the exhibit.
