The Villages of Van Buren are proud to announce our first ever Riverfront Music Festival to be held Saturday May 30, 2015 from 11am-9pm at the newly completed Keosauqua Riverfront Park in downtown Keosauqua. There is no admission fee, everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket, claim a spot to spend the day enjoying live music, great food, cold drinks and outstanding Villages hospitality along the banks of the Des Moines River.
The Van Buren County Trails Association will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Keosauqua Riverfront Park to kick-off the festivities at 10:45 am. This dedication will be celebrating the accomplishments of the Trails Association on completing this 6 year project that is already a huge asset to our community.
The Villages of Van Buren, and music sponsor, First Iowa State Bank, are pleased to present the line up of outstanding Iowa entertainers for this event:
11 am-2 pm Milltown Band from the Quad Cities, is a progressive bluegrass band, performing a mixture of originals, bluegrass and old-time tunes, with occasional forays in other directions with originals that make their show unique and high energy.
2:30 pm-5:30 pm Matthew Kane and the Band Greenbrier from Cedar Rapids blend their voices and style of music to create one powerful mix of southern Country music with a Rockin’ twist.
6 pm-9 pm Jive Radio from Burlington has one goal – to make the booty shake and the stage rumble! They cover classic disco and funk with a little nip of eighties pop like “That’s The Way (I Like It),” “Car Wash,” “Ladies’ Night,” “Brick House,” and “You Should Be Dancin’.” Jive Radio is all about the show and making you shake your groove thing!
Refreshments will be available on the grounds all day. Outside food, drinks, and coolers will not be allowed. The Keosauqua Lions will serve soda & water and food including a Jumbo Pulled Pork Plate Lunch, Tenderloins, Fries, Corn Dogs & and their famous Tator Ribbons. There will be 3 Bag Toss games, so get your teams ready for some fun competition. Budweiser products & Wine will be available for purchase to those 21 and older, ID’s will be required.
