Randall “Randy” Abolt

Randall “Randy” Abolt, 54, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 3:33 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa.

 

Born June 28, 1961 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of John and Clarice (Hellweg) Abolt.

 

Survivors include his three brothers; Marty Abolt of Donnellson, Ron (Caryl) Abolt of West Point and Bernie (Ann) Abolt of West Point. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Michael, his grandparents, one niece and one nephew.

 

Randy graduated from the Iowa School of the Deaf. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal, Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer fan. He loved spending time with his family, friends, his kitty “Kippy” and his deaf community.

 

Friends may call and meet with the family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Ossenbrinck Center next to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa.

 

A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with father Dennis Hoffman officiating.

 

Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

 

A memorial has been established in his memory to the Iowa School of the Deaf.

 

The Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
