Priscilla Ann Holtkamp, 84, of rural Mt. Hamill, Iowa passed away at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her home.
Born January 26, 1932 in Mt. Hamill, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Anna (Conrad) Pieper. On June 20, 1950 she married Wilbert Holtkamp at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Houghton, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband Bert of Mt. Hamill, two daughters; Margaret Kaltefleiter of Coralville and Anne (Dan) Menke of Donnellson, three grandchildren; Alice (fiancé Adam Jennett) Comer of Lisbon, Megan (Alex) Scheer of Mt. Pleasant and Justin Menke of West Des Moines, five great grandchildren; Wil and Sydnee Comer, Klay Scheer and Jake and Sophie Jennett, two brothers; Greg (Jeanne) Pieper of St. Paul and Damien Pieper of Iowa City, one sister-in-law; Mary Pieper Axthelm of Ottumwa, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Anthony and Jesse, one sister; Mary Kathryn, two brothers; LeRoy and Charles.
Priscilla was a 1949 graduate of St. John’s High School in Houghton. She was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul where she was an organist for ten years and also served as a lector and eucharistic minister. She was 4-H leader for the Little Women 4-H Club for ten years. Priscilla enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, crafting and card clubs. Spending time with her family was very important to her.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul, Iowa where the family will receive friends from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul, Iowa with Pastor Bruce DeRammelaere as celebrant.
Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in St. Paul, Iowa.
Memorials have been established in her memory for St. James Catholic Cemetery, HTC Catholic Schools or Regina Catholic Schools.
