Press Box Bar & Grille Captures 3rd Qtr Community Pride Award for 2015Written by Theresa Rose on July 2, 2015
MOUNT PLEASANT—The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce named Press Box Bar & Grille the third quarter winner of the Mount Pleasant Community Pride Award for exceptional property maintenance.
Owner Jeff Larkin accepted the award during the July Alive After Five networking event at Community 1st Credit Union on July 1, 2015
The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors created the Community Pride Award to honor those businesses and organizations that showcase exceptional maintenance and investment in their properties and to encourage other businesses to follow their lead. Winners are selected quarterly.
The Press Box Bar & Grille was selected for the Community Pride Award from among several nominees.
“The Press Box Bar & Grille is a deserving recipient of the Mount Pleasant Community Pride Award because they have made a substantial investment in their property,” said Chamber Board President, Carla McNamee. “With the addition of outdoor seating for 75 people, a fire pit and three big-screen TV’s, The Press Box Bar & Grill has become the place to hang out after summer events.”
“We couldn’t have undergone this expansion without the help of the local efforts from Kinney & Sons, Todd Mabeus and Mt. Pleasant Electric, Robert Smith Construction, Glen & Mark Coleman, Jean C Wiley & Sons and Jason Smith Plumbing, Heating & Cooling,” explained owner Jeff Larkin. “We realized that there was nowhere in town with outdoor seating and our facility had plenty of room to extend our space. We look forward to using this space for fall tailgating events; by adding a heater to the space, we hope to use the outdoor seating for a few extra months.”
Chamber members wishing to nominate a business for future Community Pride Awards may do so by completing a form available at the Chamber Alliance office. Community Pride Award winners display a metal yard sign crafted by Mount Pleasant business Signs and Designs.
