Offender Fails to Return to Burlington Work Release Facility

The following offender has escaped from a residential work release facility.  The offender was transferred to this facility after being granted a work release by the Iowa Board of Parole.  Work Release is a minimum security setting which allows offenders an opportunity to gradually adjust to the transition between prison and the community.

NAME: Eric Dewayne Coleman, Jr.

AGE: 24

SEX: Male

FACILITY: Burlington Work Release Facility

 OFFENSE: Robbery Second Degree, Voluntary Absence

SENTENCE: 10 Years 8 Months

COUNTY OF COMMITTMENT: Des Moines

HEIGHT: 5’7”

WEIGHT: 155 Lbs.

DATE OF ESCAPE: July 2, 2016

Coleman was placed on escape status after failing to return to the facility from an authorized appointment. Coleman was transferred to work release on May 17, 2016. This sentence began on August 24, 2009. Information as to Coleman’s whereabouts should be reported to the Burlington Police Department or Des Moines County Sheriff’s Department.
